Do you need help finding an agent?
Take the anxiety and mystery out of the process by joining me, via Zoom, this March
For you lovely ’stack readers who are also writers: do you need guidance finding an agent? I’d love to see you in my upcoming Zoom class running this March. More info here.
Finding an agent doesn’t have to be a stressful experience. I can help take away the mystery and set you up for success.
This is one of my favorite classes to teach because I truly believe I’ve nailed all the info that new writers need to know. Ultimately, once you understand what agents are looking for and why, it’s not really that complicated!
Do you have a great one-liner that will catch an agent’s attention?
I will take you through the process of figuring out how to make your work sound relevant and intriguing.
Are your first five pages up to snuff?
You have to achieve A LOT in your opening pages! I will help you figure out what it is you need to nail (for your specific project), and whether or not you’re doing it.
Is your query letter succinct, accurate and compelling?
Working together, we will wrestle your query into shape. I will guide you on how to present your book, your book’s market, and yourself.
Do you have a clear pitch strategy?
I’ll help you figure out who to pitch, how many queries to send out, and how and when to pivot, if you have to.
Sigh. I have A LOT of experience with agents. Including a recent one I haven’t yet shared publicly… in which I had to drop my (beloved) agent and find a new one. You heard it here first! In the past few years, I’ve pitched agents twice and had a 90% success rate on requests for fulls, and each time I ended up receiving multiple offers of representation.
I’m super excited to be entering 2024 with a new novel and a brand spanking new agent!
